A leader have to be credible.He/she must be convincing.They must be capable of being believe and trusted.They should make their team mates feel good about themself so that task can be easily completed.They should let their team mates trust them so that they can talk to their leader when they feel down or uncomfortable in any ideas.
How to be respected:
A team leader needs to be decisive and strong. They should be quick in dealing with any disputes and potential strife. A team leader who does not act swiftly will soon be seen as weak and vulnerable.A team leader should be fair and honest to each member of the team. They should treat everybody equally and not have any favourites.If the team see that you are working hard then they will work hard as well. You must also admit your mistakes.Do not be afraid to admit your mistake.
